Accommodation: Very small 3rd floor room with single bed, washbasin & TV, and, from my room, a small dormer window overlooking the cobbled outside the cathedral.

Railway: A 15 minute walk from either Canterbury East or Canterbury West mainline railway stations. Taunton - (Bristol) - Paddington, Victoria - Canterbury East or Charing Cross - Canterbury West.

Cricket ground: Approx 15 minute walk to cricket ground from Cathedral Gate. You pass the Phoenix and the infamous Bat & Ball.

Public carpark approx half mile away, allowed to unload / load in pedestrianised precinct outside hotel.
Breakfast available at extra £6.
Very basic room with single bed. Other more luxurious rooms available at considerable cost. Despite very steep access to top floor this accommodation is one of my favourites. Shower and toilets are shared with other rooms on same floor. Canterbury is my favourite awaystay, steeped in history, culture, and the Cathedral Gate is really handily placed right next door (as the name suggests) to the Cathedral. A real labyrinth of cobbled streets within the city wall can get you to plenty of pubs and takeaways. Just outside the city walls in each direction are some quality restaurants (Thai, Indian, Chinese, Italian).
