Arundel is an extremely pleasant hamlet (technically city with the cathedral, but to call it a 'city' you'd think it was a London or a Bristol which it definitely is not). Lovely 'olde worlde' shops, houses, pubs, restaurants (not sure about takeaways), all within easy distance, all under the watchful gaze of the impressive castle.
